Birthday Boy

Yesterday was Kaden's birthday. We are just about birthday-ed out around here. It is always crazy having two birthdays and halloween within days of each other. So Kaden turned 5 yesterday. He is so excited to be five - when I woke him up for school. He jumped up and said "Mom, I'm bigger huh. Cause I'm a 5-year-old". Everthing is a competition to Kaden and it just kills him when his friends are older than he is. But he is excited to be 5 now, and "not just a little 4 year old".

He had fun at school - they sang to him and he got to be the line leader. Except he told me later that he had to go to the back of the line after bathroom break because he peeked in the girls bathroom! What?!! I asked him why and he said he wanted to know what it looked like and see what was happening in there. Just curiousity I guess. Maybe I should be upset, but I thought it was kinda funny. Matt was just about glowing with pride. Anyway, after school we just hung out at home and he got to play with his new toys. I asked him what he wanted to do for dinner: I could make something he loves or we could go to McDonald's. I figured that was a no brainer - but he asked to go to the park and have a picnic. Fine with me - pb&j it is! After the park we sang to him, he opened a couple more gift from grandparents, and at cake again - for like the 3rd time this week! All in all it was pretty uneventful - but he said he had a great day! We love you bubba. You are crazy, funny, and a sweetheart. We are glad you are part of our family.

Birthday Girl!

Yesterday was Bailey's birthday - in some ways I can't believe she is already 3. Where has the time gone? And in other ways, I can't believe she is barely 3 - because she has not been a typical 2-year old and acts older than she is. Anyway - happy birthday, Bai! Help

I have been making some projects to sell at the upcoming Copa Creations Boutique and I need help pricing them. I haven't done one of these before, but would like to start making stuff and doing boutiques occasionally. So here's what I have:

Hooded Towels

There are two kinds - fabric hoods and towel hoods. I will probably sell the frabric hooded ones for a little more.

(I can't figure out why two of the pictures got flipped when I uploaded them - it's never done that to me before.)

Tag Blankies

Most people have seen these - but they are just little blankies that are soft fabric with ribbons on the edges. The ribbons are all different colors and textures - babies love to play with them! These are flannel on one side and the other is either baby chenille, baby minky, or satin.

Flannel PJ pants

Just basic flannel pajama pants. Most will be sizes 2T - 5T.

So everyone give me your opinion - how much would you pay for these things? I obviously want to make some money, but I also don't want to overprice them and not sell anything. Tell me what you think . . . . . . . .

Pima Air and Space Museum

Kaden has been home from school this week for fall break and we decided to take advantage of that and took a little trip to the pima air and space museum. We had a good time - despite our kids. Bailey was a nightmare - many meltdowns, fit, screaming, etc. In her defense, she didn't feel all that great - but she was really on one. We had a pretty good time anyway. I don't know much about planes - whereas Matt could tell me the name of most of the planes there. I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Here are some of the highlights:

My favorite thing there was a whole hangar dedicated to the 390th which was a huge group of flight teams and bombers based in England during WWII. I am not a history buff and usually don't remember as much as I should, but this was so interesting. They had excerpts from some of the men's journals that were captured and held in POW camps. It made all of it so real and brought tears to my eyes. Here are pictures of of the B-17 bombers that were flown - this also was meaningful to us because Matt's grandpa flew a B-17 in the South Pacific during WWII.

Another highlight of the museum was walking through Air Force One that was the presidential airplane for Johnson and JFK.

Here is a picture of a HUEY which was cool to see and Matt told us stories of his dad flying in one of these during Vietnam. Once again - just makes you appreciate all the military and all that they do for us, especially during times of war.
